Bonjour, commet ca va, Cher...

I’m Matt "Mattchew" Hebert—owner of Matthew Hebert Cajun Products L.L.C., and the heart behind MattChew’s Seasonings.

My journey in the kitchen started at just seven years old, watching my dad stir a roux with care and precision. From there, I learned the soul of cooking from my mom, dad, and grandmother—blending tradition with curiosity and a whole lot of love.

Growing up in Louisiana, I was inspired by legendary chefs like John Folse, Paul Prudhomme, Emeril Lagasse, and Justin Wilson. Their passion for Cajun cuisine lit a fire in me that’s never gone out. Over the years, I’ve expanded my palate through Food Network favorites like Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, and the talented chefs on Iron Chef. But no matter where my cooking takes me, I always come back to my soulful Cajun roots.

Whether I’m crafting boudin, cracklings, sausages, or seasoning blends, my goal is simple: to honor tradition while adding a personal touch. I believe food should tell a story—and mine is Rooted in Tradition, Seasoned with Soul.

Outside the kitchen, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing guitar, and hunting of all sorts. I’m also an Assistant Manager for a drill pipe rental company by trade, known for being talkative and giving detailed instructions—especially when it comes to food. My Italian heritage adds another layer to my cooking, blending bold flavors with Cajun soul. One day I’m on the patio cooking in cast iron, the next I’m making pasta and sauces from scratch. You never know what you’re gonna be served when you show up at my house!

As the sole proprietor of Matthew Hebert Cajun Products L.L.C., based in Lafayette, Louisiana, I’m building a brand that reflects my roots, my passion, and my commitment to quality. From weekly updates in the test kitchen to refining low-sodium blends for heart health, every product is crafted with care and community in mind.

So grab a drink, pull up a chair, and pass a good time—you’re always welcome at my table.
